About HM Tutors and Childcare

Escorting Children

Children are collected from a designated location within the school, as previously arranged. Depending on their needs, some children are walked to the venue, while others are transported by vehicle. All transport used is insured for business purposes.

Staff

All staff members—including volunteers and those on work placements—are encouraged to undertake relevant training and are supported in advancing their qualifications. This ensures we stay up to date with developments in the childcare sector and continue to provide high-quality care.

Escorting Children

At the start of each term, HM Tutors and Childcare hosts a meeting with both children and parents to gather feedback, assess what’s working, and identify areas for improvement. This collaborative approach ensures everyone has a voice in shaping the club’s direction.

Daily sessions include a variety of age-appropriate, structured games, alongside opportunities for creativity and self-expression. Activities may include group discussions and debates on engaging topics such as fashion, late-night shopping, advertising, and bullying. We also host talent shows, offer free play time, and encourage children to take the lead in certain activities—including helping to organise the daily snack-time routine.

Our programs are designed to build confidence, self-awareness, and social integration, especially for children who may be quieter or less involved. We aim to create an inclusive, welcoming environment where every child feels valued.

At HM Tutors and Childcare, our motto is “No child misses out.” This means we support children in continuing to participate in after-school activities, whether at their school or elsewhere. To facilitate this, we offer both early drop-offs and late pick-ups to accommodate individual schedules.

While school remains the cornerstone of academic learning, HM Tutors and Childcare complements this by offering reading sessions—either with materials from school or books brought from home. We view our daily routines as rich learning opportunities. For example, snack-time encourages children to develop organisation and leadership skills, as they take on responsibilities and rotate through different roles.

Key Information

Behaviour Policy

At HM Tutors and Childcare, the safety, well-being, and personal development of each child are our top priorities.

Physical punishment is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.

When addressing behaviour, our staff aim to guide children in a way that supports their emotional development and overall welfare. Our approach is grounded in positive reinforcement, respect, and consistency.

In cases of unsociable or unacceptable behaviour, a short, temporary withdrawal from group activities may be used. This provides the child with a chance to calm down and reflect. A member of staff will always speak with the child to help them understand the situation and the reasons behind the withdrawal, encouraging them to make better choices in the future.

Our goal is to promote self-discipline, empathy, and respect for others in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Collection of children

Children must be collected on time by the nominated person.

Please notify the club if anyone other than the nominated person is collecting your child/ren.

If you are going to be late, where possible please contact the club. Continuous lateness will incur a £5.00 fine for every fifteen minutes.

Please note if there is an ongoing continual late pattern this could lead to the forfeit of your child/ran place.
